Every day we will focus on three things. We will help you:
Sort through what is happening in our state government, in the boardrooms of Alaska and around the globe.
Identify who is making the decisions that help and who is hurting your future.
Figure out what you can do. For your family, your mortgage, your job, and your future.
With the rising costs of health insurance, many Alliance members are seeking cost-effective and efficient ways to provide financially for the medical needs of themselves and their dependents. Health conscious Alaskans needed an alternative to the high cost of fully insured health plans. Participating in a health plan that includes Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) provides compliance with the Individual Shared Responsibility provision of the ACA. But what about actually handling the escalating costs of illness or injury? This is where the medical cost sharing model, which is not insurance, applies. The Alliance has chosen options that expand the sharing approach to individuals, and their households, who choose to share common health-related goals. These are flexible options that help address the needs of Alliance members and the high costs of Alaska health care.
Please carefully review the options before choosing, as each option has different purposes and coverage levels.
