63%

63% of Alaskans oppose the PRO Act after hearing how it would impact independent contractors in Alaska - including 57% of union members

The numbers are clear – Alaskans want to preserve their choice to be independent contractors and work when and for whom they choose

  • Alaska’s congressional representatives should listen to the overwhelming preference of their constituents and continue fighting to protect the Alaskan way of life

Senator Murkowski has been essential in helping Alaskans throughout the pandemic by supporting pro-business and pro-economic policies – we cannot stop now

  • Over 55,000 jobs across Alaska depend on preserving their right to work as independent contractors

Alaskans prefer the right to work for themselves when, where and for whom they want – something politicians in Washington D.C. want to change with the PRO Act

  •  Politicians in Washington D.C. should not be telling Alaska how to run its economy and how we should run our labor and employment guidelines

The ABC test – one of the most concerning elements of the PRO Act – is the same element of California’s 2019 “Assembly Bill 5” (AB5) that has been disastrous for its economy

  • After passing AB5, California legislators realized the ABC test hurt everyone from teachers to writers to retirees from working as independent contractors

  • To date, California has passed dozens of “exemptions’” to the bill and they are still going

  • If it didn’t work for California, it certainly won’t work for Alaska
